Patience is key to success in the world of Freelancing, especially on Fiverr.

Because on other freelancing sites i.e Upwork, etc., you have to bid on proposals to get job. However, in Fiverr, all of your success relies on your gig. It can take days, weeks, or even months to get your first order.

You can’t sit and wait for a miracle to happen, can you?

I have faced this hassle both as a newbie and an experienced Fiverr seller.

If you are a newbie, your main goal is to get orders. But as an experienced seller, you’re concerned to take your business a step further and that is only possible with the consistent orders.

So here I am sharing Fiverr gig promotion tips, which I have learned over the years. It will be a long content, but I am going to make it very simple for you.

Let’s start first with what’s inside Fiverr and how you can use it for Fiverr gig promotion.

Fiverr gig promotion inside Fiverr

Gig tags

Understand this: Buyer use tags/keywords to search. They will rarely go to the respective category to find you.

If you are not getting orders, the first thing you should do is to check your gig tags. Generally, tags changes depending upon the searching trends. So make sure you keep your tags up to date.

Luckily, finding and adding tags is a piece of cake and Fiverr has made it very simple for you. There is nothing magical in tags.

Tips to find relevant tags

  • Go to Search box
  • Type a keyword of your service i.e. article, blog, logo etc.
  • You will get most searched 6 relative tag suggestions.

For example, I have searched “logo” and get following results.

Buyers Request

Generally, within Fiverr, Buyers request is the best tool to promote your gig. For me, Buyers Request is my friend in need.

If your gig impressions and clicks are consistently going down, don’t waste a minute, go to Buyers Request and start applying. You have 10 offers per day, which are more than enough if you use them wisely.

Usually, buyers post low budget jobs in Buyers Request, but don’t worry – all you need is orders.

“Fiverr don’t rank your gig based on REVENUE. It ranks gig on a number of orders.”

So impress a client in the best way possible and get that order.

How to impress clients and submit BEST offers?

  • Carefully read the job description.
  • Personalize your cover letter accordingly.
  • Send him a relevant portfolio link or create free sample (if possible)
  • Choose correct gig (if you are offering multiple services).
  • Bid wisely neither low nor high.
  • Add gig extras (if required)
  • Mention your time availability for discussion.

Important Note: Never user Buyer Request for advertising your gig, Fiverr may suspend your account. Recently Fiverr has updated his Policy for Buyer Request. Here is the updated policy.

Misuse of the Buyer Request feature, such as advertising your services as a seller, may lead to your account being disabled.

Fiverr Forum

If you are low on motivation, struggling to get orders or have any questions – which Fiverr support team didn’t answer properly – then go to Fiverr Forum.

You will get required motivation and valuable pieces of advice from TOP sellers.

If you just want to use Fiverr Forum for gig promotion, then there is a dedicated thread too. The name of the thread is “My Fiverr gig”. (I have highlighted it for your convenience)

Fiverr gig promotion outside of Fiverr

Now, let’s look how you can grow your business outside of Fiverr.

P.S. These ways are not violating the Fiverr Terms of Service and Privacy Policy guidelines.

Social network

One of the easiest ways to market your business outside of Fiverr is through social networking sites.

A common misconception is that you need hundreds of dollars to promote yourself on these sites.

No penny is involved in posting, commenting, and sharing anything on social media.

It’s completely FREE.

So, if you are not using these FREE sites for promotion, you are missing a huge opportunity.

But you need a proper plan. You can’t just go and blindly post your gig and start hoping to get an order.

As Benjamin Franklin says:

“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!”

If you manage to formulate a successful marketing strategy, your success is guaranteed.

So, let’s look at different social media sites one-by-one and learn how to use them for Fiverr gig promotion.

Facebook is a community of 2 billion active users, according to TechCrunch. From that 2 billion people, I am sure there is at least one person waiting for you to reach him and a long lasting business relationship.

How to promote gig on Facebook?

To find that “right” person, Facebook offers two way.

  1. Group
  2. Page

There are many open, closed, and private Facebook groups out there regarding Fiverr gig promotions. Depending on your country, the local community is running and operating these groups.

You can not only promote your gig there but gain some useful tips too from an experienced seller.

However, don’t rely too much on these groups. Your target market is clients, REAL clients. You need them to grow your business.

Days are gone when you have to manually research to find your clients. With top-level data mining algorithm of Facebook, you can easily find your potential clients. Under “Insight” tab of the page, you can find all details about user’s interactions with your post.

How to use Facebook Page for gig promotion?
  • Create a page
  • Instead of random things, post interesting and engaging content related to your gig.
  • Don’t talk directly about your gig. Post your portfolio and samples to attract clients.
  • Add “contact us” or “book now” buttons on your cover page.
  • Admin section is an excellent source to know your audience’s behavior, trends, demographics, etc.
  • Lastly, create an ad (if you have budget)

Finding potential clients on Twitter is much easier than Facebook.

You might have noticed politicians, celebrities, athletes, actors, directors, entrepreneurs, CEOs etc. prefer Twitter over Facebook to share their life stories.

Because it allows sophisticated and more direct engagement with followers. Also, the 140 character content provide them the luxury to convey a message, news, or information in few words. Furthermore, using right #hastags, their tweet can spread to the whole world in the blink of an eye

How to promote gig on Twitter?

  • Create account (if you don’t have)
  • Find relevant hashtags for your gig.
  • Post your gig image/video with to-the-point and comprehensive 140 character description.
  • Engage potential clients through RT, comment, and like.
  • Use “Tweet Activity” to track trends.

Pinterest provides you an interactive way to connect with your potential clients, who are hiding somewhere.

The mechanism of Pinterest is different than other social sites. You can only post images with a description. And they call it Pin.

If you are non-designer, it would be a tough task to engaging your clients. Luckily, there are some tools available out there to help you out, which I will share in a minute.

How to Promote Fiverr gig on Pinterest?

After creating an account on Pinterest, create a board with your gig category. You can create multiple boards as well. For example, if you are offering multiple gig services on Fiverr you can create a separate board for each service.

To design post, there are many tools out there. Generally, they offer limited features in the free version and you have to pay to unlock all features.

Luckily, there is Canva. It is FREE for a lifetime with a huge library of photos. If your desired photo is not available, you can even upload your own images as well.

Once you have launched your promotion campaigns on social sites, your next step is Forums. I have found forums as one of the best ways to drive traffic to your Fiverr gig.

Basically, a forum is a place of like-minded people where they learn, share experiences, and post problems.

There are many forums out there relevant to your profession. You can find them on google with ease. Just put your profession name with “forum” keyword. For example, if you are a designer, you can search “designer forums”.

P.S. Every forum has a specific set of rules and guidelines. Make sure to read them before joining.

Whether you are following 10 forums or 100, if you are not part of Quora, you are wasting your efforts.

When I joined Quora, I stopped using all other forums that I was part of.

I was getting all benefits under one roof.

Quora is a place of professionals, quality answers, and real people who want to help others.

Chose questions which have over 100 answers. It will increase your chances of views and upvotes. Also make sure your answer is:

  • Engaging
  • Interesting
  • Inspiring

Last but not the least, create a website specific to your niche.

A website can be the first step, but it can take a lot of effort and time to rank your website on top of search results.

Recently, Fiverr has created a widget of a profile which is a very helpful tool.

How To find Fiverr profile widget:

  • Login to your Fiverr profile
  • Go to “Seller” section
  • Under “Seller” menu, go to “Promote yourself”

Whether you are using the social network, forums, website or any other tool to promote your Fiverr gigs, NEVER PUSH HARD. Generally, one of the major mistakes sellers make – when promoting gigs inside and outside Fiverr – is to Sell HARD.

Engage clients with discussions, suggestion, like and comments on their posts. But never say them directly to purchase your services with an intention to promote your Fiverr profile.

If you push, they will push you back.

Instead of hiring you, they will ignore you.

Let him decide whether to hire you or not. I know it will take time, but this will increase your success rate exponentially.

Also, if you carefully notice, Fiverr is all about engaging your clients through your gig title, image, video, and gig description. You don’t find your clients, they find you!

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. You can post it in a comment section or ask in private through the Contact page.
